Letter of Columbus to Luis De Santangel, 1493

This is the English translation of "Letter of Columbus to Luis De Santangel, 1493." It recounts Christopher Columbus's initial voyage to the Americas, detailing his discoveries and impressions of the New World. Written shortly after his return to Europe, the letter offers a firsthand account of the lands, peoples, and resources encountered during the expedition. Addressed to Luis De Santangel, a patron of Columbus's voyage, the letter served to inform the Spanish court of the success of the venture and to encourage further exploration and colonization.

This historical document provides valuable insights into the early European perception of the Americas and Columbus's vision for their future. It remains a significant primary source for understanding the Age of Exploration and the initial interactions between Europeans and the indigenous populations of the Americas.
