Rebuilding your life is hard, even in a small town. Michelle is building her life and her school after a 'let's not talk about it' divorce. Beau's just looking for a job and some purpose after retiring from the Marines. They are pulled together with one common goal: to protect the children.

French Immersion principal, Michelle LeBlanc was trying to start the new school year off right. However, her school is a mess, a putz of an ex is now the school landlord, and something is going on with the Hebert kids. Enter Beau Babineaux, a quiet, hardworking retired Marine, who helps her juggle everything. Now, if she could just stop thinking inappropriate things about him and focus on her goals.

Beau just wants a job. He retired from the Marines and has his friends. That is all he needs. He keeps himself apart, wandering around in a big house he created for a family he never made. While Beau and Michelle grow closer, threats emerge to Michelle, to her school, and to the Hebert children. The pair must work together to evade the immediate threat and to figure out what is going on in Meauxville.
