Laid off during the 2008 collapse, Kevin Kerry scrambles to keep his family intact until he finally lands a bookkeeping job at JD Customs, a Pittsburgh jewelry store with a sleek showroom up front and considerably more interesting arrangements in the back. The money is modest at first, barely enough to justify the commute. The boss, Johnny DelGatto, is charismatic and rough around the edges. The crew that moves through the place doesn't look like they're there to browse engagement rings.

What starts as straightforward bookkeeping quietly deepens into something far more dangerous, and far more lucrative. Cash that can't be explained. Shipments that aren't on any invoice.
