It needs to be noted that this book does start out slow, and it does so on purpose. The reasoning behind this is to bring forth the mundaneness of this creature's life, and the mindset that he is in. It shows the repetitiveness and hardship that he is forced to endure by the humans that are around him, and hence, the life that he is being forced to live. It eventually helps to bring out what is behind the growing loathing that is stewing towards those who have made him who, and what, he is. The elusive creature in this book, is the DOGMAN, and one Dogman in particular that goes by the named, Josiah Wolfe. This is a story about Josiah's battle of survival against the brutality of the human race, the journey of finding one's self that he must make, and the harshness and cruelty of his own kind. This is not a book for the faint at heart.

As you begin to read, you will read about how the reoccurring, nightmarish memories of his past, consume Josiah's subconscious dreamscape. With each reoccurring nightmare that he has, another piece to the puzzle of his life is exposed, and together they begin to reveal the horrors that he had suffered in his past. As his memories from the past slowly present more details, the puzzle pieces of his subconscious begin to come together and form a complete picture, revealing why the Dogman called Josiah Wolfe is the way he is, and who and what was behind his creation. As the days and nights of his life drag on, Josiah Wolfe begins to feel a mysterious calling coming from deep within himself. An unfightable invisible force begins to draw him away from the valley that he has called his home for many years, and subsequently, also away from the humans that he despises so much. This mysterious calling begins to draw him in the direction of a mountain range, with peaks that rise above the clouds. As he ascends the mountain side, the calling begins to turn into an intelligible voice that he can now hear from within his head. The further he climbs, the stronger the calling gets for him. As he ascends up the mountain side, he begins to feel the need of real urgency from within himself. As he continues to climb skyward, Josiah faces many life and death struggles until he finally reaches where it is that he was being called to be, and where all his questions about his past are revealed, and he learns of what his future will now hold.

What secrets are exposed on the mountain top plateau that rests in the clouds, and what answers to his past life are finally revealed to him? To find out the answers to all these mysterious questions, and to delve deeper into the world of the Dogmen, you will need to read the book for yourself.
