In A Valley Shadowed

This is a true story, no part of it is fiction.
I am a regular person, no different from anyone else.

When I was 27 years old, I became ill. I was born with a heart defect that required surgical intervention, but no one knew about it. As expected, when I found out, I was terrified, but, I remembered the God I had been taught about in my childhood.

At the time of my illness, I had recently become a brand-new mother, and I was afraid I would die and leave my infant son without a mother. I did the only thing I knew how to do; I went to my father in heaven, seeking help, seeking life, seeking a future.

What I found was a God who would become my God. I found a loving father who cared about the minute details of my life. I found a father who, as the Bible says, knew me before he formed me, and what was mind-numbing to me was how he had already mapped out the details of my life to bring about the best outcome for me.

I was/am in awe of how the pieces fell into place, leaving no doubt in my mind about who the author of my life was.

In my time of need, I discovered a loving God, a father who knew me, who knew where I was, cared for me as an individual, and a father who cared enough to come to me in the sin-drenched state I was in.

I discovered a God who loves me and a God who loves you too!
