Born and raised in Brooklyn NY in the 60's, the author was working at the Jacobi Hospital Complex in the Bronx on that fateful day of 9/11. Selected to assist in the Rescue and Recovery efforts at Ground Zero that first week, Mr. Drew has reflected on his part in assisting the efforts of selfless squads of volunteers who shared the common desire to help restore some semblance of reality into a hyper-surreal situation. Out of that backdrop, the author has made available over 90 plates of never seen before personal photos from the inside and around the perimeter of the epicenter. From supply stations to designated evidence drop off points, these photographs document the immediate aftermath of the attack outside lower Manhattan and take you up close inside the perimeter and next to the epicenter to witness the inner workings of the myriads of LEO's and First Responders who was there on those days immediately following this horrific attack. Kept under wraps for over 20 years, these photographs were never exhibited to the general public. it is now time for these pictorial documents to take their station and become part of the permanent record.
