Ornithologist, Dr. Silas Finch, has returned to his hometown of Nautical Cove to work on his second doctorate. This time, he's tracking the mating and migration rituals of the piping plover. What the serious and studious doctor doesn't expect to encounter is the quirky storeowner who wears more crystals than a reigning queen. He wants nothing to do with Willow Davies. He's in town for two things: to gather data for his dissertation and to educate the citizens of Nautical Cove about the piping plovers during the Eco-Friendly Equinox Festival. And if he got a little hot under the collar when he and Willow were forced to be in the bird blind together, he's just going to ignore that little fact.

So when Willow and Dr. Finch are forced to join forces and have one educational booth at the town's monthly festival...it's no surprise to the seaside citizens when the feathers start to fly! But really, how can Willow be expected to work with the man? He wears khakis and button-up collared shirts on the beach! However, it doesn't take long before the two opposites realize they have more in common than they originally thought. So when Dr. Finch's study site is suddenly vandalized, the two opposites buckle down to figure out who would do such a horrible thing. Can Willow and Silas overcome their differences and work together to figure out who is trying to harm the piping plovers? Or will their differences and budding romance be too much in the end to overcome--especially when khakis, crystals, and chakras are involved?
