Half Baker Acted picks up where Gator Bait left off, Langden has just been married to her college sweetheart, Stan Gurley. She embarks on a new adventure, law school, as well as experiences the trials and tribulations of a short term marriage. When she starts experiencing mental health symptoms, no one is really sure how to act, so she is turned over to the Florida mental health system, for better or worse. She has to somehow manage to pick up the pieces of a life that was shattered by the mental illness she experiences in her late twenties. She does get to experience life in Florida's capital city, Tallahassee, which is a bright spot in an otherwise dark morasse of mental chaos.
