King Arthur, the warlord. King Arthur, the wounded lover.King Arthur, the leader. King Arthur, the spoilt child. These arefour different characteristics that King Arthur has in Mallory"s LeMorte Darthur, Alliterative Morte Arthure, Stanzaic Le Morte Arthurand in the Pearl poet"s Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. KingArthur has always been in people"s mind as Britain?s national herowithout any flaws. In these four literary pieces four differentaspects are introduced of the same mythological figure and they arenot as perfect as they should be. However in the end we realizethat all these things bring King Arthur, the one that shows similarheroic traits to Jesus, Harry Potter, Beowulfand many otherfolktale heroes, closer to us, human beings than weexpected.
