            After the assassination of Talia's mother, her father sends her to the human world with the Captain of the Guard to protect her. Twenty years later, Donovan ascends to the throne of the Night Kingdom, after his brother's untimely death. He's desperate to pick up where his brother let off finding peace between the kingdoms. Discovering Talia is his mate and how their union can bring peace and help restore the Magik, he travels to the human world to find her and bring her back to their realm. They are an unlikely pair, one being of winter and darkness, the other of spring and summer.
