Aubrey once stood in the pulpit of their small-town church. Now he lives alone at the edge of a canyon, making a quiet living writing commissioned songs that tell other people's stories - memorials, reconciliations, moments too fragile for ordinary conversation. He has learned that music can sometimes hold what theology cannot.

Daniel has always been certain - certain of Scripture, certain of doctrine, certain of where the lines are drawn. But when his daughter comes out and steps beyond those lines, certainty fractures.
