At the end of Briar Hollow Road, where the trees lean too close and the light thins into a sickly gray, the house waits.

It isn't abandoned. It isn't ruined. It simply feels... occupied.

When Elaine Merritt and her husband Daniel move their family into the narrow, pale-sided home swallowed by woods, they tell themselves it's a fresh start. A quieter place. A place to breathe. But from the moment Elaine steps onto the porch, keys biting cold into her palm, she senses something pressing back-something heavy in the air, something that smells old and disturbed.

Their teenage son Lucas jokes about ghosts as he films the house on his phone, narrating their escape from civilization to his followers. He doesn't believe in hauntings.
