Eventide '97

As 1997 starts, it is a long time before Eventide begins. Eventide is the Christmas celebration in Emerald, Iowa. It lasts for about a month, starting the day after Thanksgiving. It is always a big deal. You don't know it yet but Eventide '97 is going to be the best one yet.
But right now, just living through heartbreak is all that some experience. Engaged couple Brian Seagren and Arlene Plummer are going through a difficult time. As 1996 came to an end these two had thoughts of eloping. But that all changes as the sun rises and the new year begins. What happened? Will they split up? That is yet to be seen.
Noel and Angela Dahlke look forward to starting a family. One of the Christmas presents Noel received was a positive pregnancy test. Sometime in the new year they would be parents. But this, too, presented challenges, especially when they find out exciting news from the doctor.
