Envious Green

In the shadow of Windsor's oldest oaks, something wicked has taken root.

Elodie Chastain loves things that grow. At Envious Green, her secluded nursery, she tends to toxic foxgloves and weeping willows with the same care she uses to bury her own traumatic past. Since her mother's murder, Elodie has felt safest among the leaves.

But the woods are no longer empty.

A figure watches from the boughs-a man wearing a crown of woven antlers and a mask of dead skin. He is the Stag King, a murderer who hunts with a blade and walks on bare feet. And he is getting closer.

Elodie isn't facing the darkness alone. She has her staff: the unsettlingly beautiful twins, Iris and Daphne, who move in perfect, eerie unison, and Rowan, a boy who sees too much. And then there is Ben Lovac-the broad-shouldered delivery man who wants to offer Elodie more than just supplies.

But as the Stag King descends from the trees, Elodie realizes that her connection to the earth runs deeper than she thought. Her mother's spirit is whispering in the wind, and it's warning her:
