"Die verkaufte Braut" (The Bartered Bride) is a comic opera in three acts by Bedřich Smetana. The opera is set in a Bohemian village and tells the story of Mařenka, who is intended to be married to Vašek, a stuttering simpleton, but who loves Jeník.
