The only clues were the sloppy handwriting resembling that of a professional who writes quickly and often, and the last five words of the letter, "Chrysalis may destroy the world."Once in New Bend, it didn't take long for Zach and his wife, Layla, to realize something was off. After only five minutes in town while filling their car with gas, Zach saw the distinct face of an old male friend. His interest was piqued because he was now a she. Unusual, though not unheard of, but after a few repeated discoveries as well as impossible changes in ethnicity in this small, "normal" community, Zach wondered about his own sanity. The urgency of the situation increased with the discovery of a dead man tied to a pole at the local shooting range.
