A card handed over in trust. A family that does not believe him.
Ana is twenty, and her parents buy, renovate and sell houses. Vicențiu is twenty-four, lives in a rented attic he uses as a studio, and has just failed the entrance exam at the art academy. They meet one December afternoon on an ice rink, when Ana falls and Vicențiu is the first to reach her.
A few days before Christmas, she gives him her bank card and asks him to buy lights, ornaments and a ribbon for a tree no one has decorated yet. On Christmas Eve, on a side street behind the market, Vicențiu is stabbed and robbed of the card. He wakes up without papers or insurance in a hospital ward for social cases, while Ana's family goes to the police and names him as the thief.
Christmas Red Baubles is a winter novel about who gets believed, and what it costs when no one checks.
