Brad Nelson believes chickens belong outside.

He also believes in clean systems, clear rules, predictable schedules, and workplace environments that do not require poultry protocols.

Then Jim O'Connor walks into Brad's coworking space with Steve: an indoor hen with a diaper collection, a calm sense of entitlement, and absolutely no respect for Brad's professional boundaries.

Jim sees Steve as part of his life. Brad sees her as a compliance risk with feathers.

But when Brad turns the chaos into an idea for a compatibility app for people with unusual pets, he and Jim are forced into collaboration. What starts as a practical attempt to organize the unorganizable quickly becomes something warmer, messier, and far less predictable than Brad intended.

Because Jim is not a problem to solve. Steve is not a variable to contain. And love, as it turns out, does not always follow the path Brad designs for it.
