Canyon in E-

Canyon in E- is a three-part piano composition written in a newly conceptualized key: "E minus." Designed for a single performer using two separate electronic keyboards, the piece cannot be played as written on a single instrument. Each page of the music score features two grand staves- one for the left-hand part and one for the right-hand part-requiring the musician to navigate a dual keyboard setup. The parts to the one-hand ("keyboard 1") and the other-hand ("keyboard 2") are connected with a thin line between each grand staff. Each musician can choose which hand is most suitable.

The piano composition emphasizes expressive use of damper pedals and challenges the performer to approach physical playing technique in a way that differs significantly from traditional single-keyboard works.
