The year is 2417. A series of catastrophic genetic experiments has shifted the species' power balance on the planet. Earth is ruled, not by man...but by giant Insects. The Sectz. Vastly superior physically, they have obliterated man's traditional weapons of war. Established infrastructures have broken down. Now it is humanity's turn to hide away in isolated city-colonies. Heavily fortified skyscrapers stand like giant termite mounds.

As ever, though, mankind adapts. Military scientists combine the most formidable DNA from across the Animal Kingdom with the human genome. A fearsome new army of Hybrid Soldiers is created. The Bridz. The human spirit becomes the Hybrid spirit.

Yet, before Bridz become Hybrid Soldiers, they remain as normal children. Only during the hormonal change from childhood to adulthood do their instinctive mammalian powers begin to surface.
