Previously hidden in the seemingly impenetrable blackberry vines were the remnants of the famous Allan Wattson, farm. Upon discovery of the ten-acre blackberry patch, Grady and his close allies form The Secret Bramble Society.
Their first tunnel through the deep swirling vines leads to an old school bus which they immediately turn into their H.Q. From there, our secret society sets out to explore the rest of the huge plot of brambles, uncovering many intriguing structures and vehicles, including a giant tree house.
While spending much of their free time tunneling through uncharted blackberry vines, the Secret Bramble Society is faced with a problem at school: Bullies. It's war! Our friends organize and confront this situation head on, and resolve this in book one the Whistle War
Currently Ten acres of blackberry vines, all to themselves, to tunnel and explore to their heart's desire. Or so they thought. The Secret Bramble Society having dealt the bullies of Madison Middle School a death blow, now must face the fact that something is out there in their beloved bramble patch in book two Brambles The Ghost
They all saw the light in the old farm house. There's no way anyone could be over there. It's completely engulfed by a wall of impenetrable, fifteen-foot-tall, blackberry vines. But there it was, a light in the window.
After freaking out, the Bramble Society members regain their composure and set about looking for answers. They come to believe the former owner and famous writer Allan Wattson has unfinished business amongst the living and is now haunting his former homestead.
While the team have their hands full with a possible ghost, their friend world-renowned correspondent Bob Mackey appears to be involved with terrorists from the far East who make their evil presence known. The Bramble Society is involved on two fronts. Terrorists on the one hand and a ghost on the other. New tunnels are created and new allies are acquired. Who knew the answers would be discovered in the old deserted farmhouse and under the hood of a very special muscle car.
Based on an actual acreage and neighborhood in Santa Clara, Oregon just outside of Eugene, Oregon. Author John Mud imagined how much fun it would be to tunnel and explore in this massive tangle of blackberry brambles. Once the plot was cleared there was quite the eclectic collection of vehicles, buildings, sheds and all matter of farm implements.
