When covert pilot Alex Kane is recruited to steal Russia's next-generation MiG-41 stealth fighter, he believes it's just another mission. But as he executes the daring theft with Colonel Tikhon Kurpovinski, he realizes he's caught in a vast geopolitical game. The CIA, Russian intelligence, and rogue factions all have their own agendas, and no one can be trusted.
Sarah Tower, Kane's handler, manipulates events from the shadows, while Makeyla "Maki" Saint-Clair works against him, seeing the mission as a global threat. A staged Russian sabotage at Groom Lake allows Kurpovinski to escape with the MiG, but his defection is a ruse, the CIA allows Russia to take him back as part of a deeper deception.
In Moscow, Major Melena Brokalov plays a seductive game of manipulation, but Kurpovinski is plotting his own escape. With the help of Leonid Kamarov and Kayla Torres, he flees Russia in a deadly shootout. The trio hides in Florence, Italy, only to be hunted down by Russian mercenaries.
The group's final extraction is set, but betrayal is waiting. On a flight back to the U.S., Sarah, Kurpovinski, and the others fall mysteriously unresponsive. Kayla, the sole survivor, flees before security arrives, realizing she's been set up. Alone, hunted, and betrayed, she vanishes into the shadows, knowing the mission was never about stealing a jet.
