How she handles a racist father, a racist teacher, police brutality and injustice to her own kind. Amari tries to cope with her loss and pain in ways that no one can understand. She tries to juggle it all, but, how can she do it when she's reminded every day that she isn't white and cannot have the same opportunities and life as a white child her age.
What will happen to Amari when her blackness isn't on her side? When push comes to shove and society just isn't welcoming to people like her. People who look like her, talk like her or act like her.
