The caught-on-camera death of George Floyd on May 25, 2020 shook the conscience of both the nation and the international community in a way that had not been seen since the death of Emmett Till 65 years earlier, forcing a new generation of Americans to face the sobering reality that as a nation, we have not fully turned the corner on the dark legacy of our country's race-based history.
