Beyond Appearances

Dear reader, what is the importance of consciously dedicating yourself to character improvement? There are two fundamental reasons for this. First, you will never find full satisfaction or experience true happiness until you do so. Second, the game of life demands it as an inalienable commitment.

Each of us is alive for a purpose, and somewhere within your consciousness, you have an awareness of this fact. Constantly, you are seeking or waiting for something that, when absent, leaves you unsatisfied and incomplete. However, it is up to you to develop your character to fill this gap and achieve the desired fulfillment.

Your series of small destinies, from tomorrow to next week, next year, the end of life in this body, and your great destiny to be fulfilled with unimaginable splendor in a distant future (through reincarnation on Earth and life on other worlds), is entirely in your own hands. The arrival of this splendor can be accelerated right now by the effort you make and the deeds you have done in the past - by nothing else.

Life is a matter of degree, and there is as much difference between one person and another as between a beautiful horse and the mute and deaf worm. The external world is also different for each of them. Character goes hand in hand with circumstances and, throughout life, prepares its own opportunities. Over the course of life, character undergoes constant modification. Each experience adds a portion of strength, intimate knowledge, or sensitivity to it. Every feeling, every thought, even fleeting ones, leave their permanent mark on the developing character.

There is something even more powerful that drives us to improve our character: the potential to leave a lasting legacy. By shaping our character, we have the ability to positively impact the lives of those around us and contribute to building a better world. We can be agents of change, inspiring others to walk a path of righteousness and excellence.
