Ben's Big Feelings in a Little Body is a thoughtful illustrated children's book. It gives the message it's okay to be mad without feeling bad. The term "grown-up" is used instead of "parent" to include a variety of family constellations and caregivers.
The idea for this book originated when the author's son Ben, was very angry. The author was learning about the importance of validating a child's feelings. Ms. Hart said to her son, "You have big feelings in a little body".
Validating and accepting big feelings without judgement allows children to move through their feelings without feeling shame or bad about themselves. This is a true story about a day Ben had big feelings in a little body.
