Behemoth

A runaway. A cursed voyage. A storm no ship should survive.

In 770 BC, a Hebrew fugitive, whose name means dove, flees his calling and boards the Dror, a Canaanite vessel belonging to a seasoned captain named Hanan.

Among his crew: Shimon, an Ethiopian Jew of Ham's line, works with Arktos, the towering Grecian giant, to steer the massive twin rudders, while the first mate, Ignatius the Judean, steers the crew into trouble again and again. 

The Dror, a name which means freedom, becomes ensnared by the erakladon, a storm of lethal strength. As the battered ship groans, a monstrous shape takes form and circles them. To the superstitious Greeks, it is Cetus, the ancient, savage creature of every sailor's worst nightmare. To the Captain, it is a behemoth called the Dag Gadol emerging from the depths of a distant, terrifying memory. To the amazement of everyone, one man alone declares that Behemoth is an instrument of mercy. 

As the storm reaches its peak, the runaway's guilt is exposed, and knowing he has provoked God's wrath, he makes an unthinkable offer.
