Gem Novak is young, beautiful, and already quite successful in her chosen career as an interior designer. Her success extends to establishing a charity for underprivileged children which is driven by her own adoptive status.
She is kind, loving, ambitious and has a close and loving bond with her adoptive parents. However, her innate fears regarding her unknown genetic history, motivates her decision; that having children of her own will not be a part of her future.
A marriage of convenience appeared to be the perfect solution, allowing her freedom to pursue her personal goals, but that didn't work, so in a desperate effort to ditch her ex-fiancé Gem approaches a stranger in a bar with an unconventional request.
