Written over the course of the first 5.5 months of intensive therapy, "be" is a book of creative, poetic journal entries that remind the reader that being means allowing ourselves to exist in all of our states. The book is published in the order of the poems written, representing the fluctuations between our states not being organized or perfectly timed. The hope is that in reviewing these words written as a lifeline, the reader feels less alone and finds the inspiration to write for themselves. Be advised, these works are based on the processing of mental health and thus do address topics of eating disorders, sexual assault, abuse, relationships, negative self-image, suicidal ideation, and more.
