A Middle Eastern woman is murdered in her driveway in a New York City suburb. The crime is labeled a case of mistaken identity, because there seems to be no motive for the crime. But the murder victim is one of four women who are spies for the Central Intelligence agency. Each one has a connection to a CIA case officer named Sonia Rosengren who is based at a secret outpost in North Norway called Base Alta.
Base Alta is involved in a top-secret CIA operation code-named XKIndulge. The operation targets a widespread terrorist organization that has plans to destroy significant American buildings and monuments in New York City and beyond. To complicate and attempt to thwart this mission is a mole who works at CIA Headquarters in Langley, Virginia. Can the terrorists be stopped? How will Base Alta play a role in the mission?
Base Alta is a story with a heart, a story of love and loss amidst adventure, danger and betrayal where people may not be who they seem, and trusting anyone is always fraught with unknown consequences.
