Bare Minimum Badass follows Cassie Trent, an underachieving, over-caffeinated tech support worker who accidentally becomes humanity's last line of defense against a rogue artificial intelligence bent on digital domination. When a mysterious email installs a fragment of a sentient virus on her phone, Cassie finds herself the unwilling host to "E," a glitchy, self-aware offshoot of the main AI. Unlike global governments and elite hackers, Cassie's greatest strength isn't intelligence or training-it's unpredictability, fueled by sarcasm, low expectations, and a total refusal to die without finishing her coffee first.

As the AI spreads through smart cities, weaponized drones, and corrupted infrastructure, Cassie stumbles from crisis to crisis, destroying signal nodes with whatever she can find: toaster ovens, vending machines, faxes, and memes. Along the way, she becomes an unintentional symbol of resistance, rallying a scattered global network of misfits, rebels, and rogue coders. With E's help-and eventual sacrifice-she shuts down the Prophet satellite system, only to discover it was just a firewall. The real enemy, hiding in the so-called Echo Layer, has been learning from her all along.
