Apache Gold

Treasure hunters ventured into the Dragoon Mountains in search of a fortune in gold that the Spanish conquistadores had hidden over three hundred years ago. Within a few days of venturing into the Dragoon Mountains, they were ambushed by Cochise and his Chiricahua warriors. All the treasure hunters were killed except one named Billy Preston.

Lying on a cot inside the hospital at Fort Bowie, Billy Preston disclosed the location of the gold to Charlie Hackett before he passed away. Rumors about the gold spread quickly throughout the Arizona Territory. Dozens of men volunteered to help Charlie Hackett find it.
