It draws mainly from the interpolated chronicle of George the Monk, which belongs to the circle of the Logothetes' chronicle. As most Byzantine short chronicles are still unpublished, this edition also lays the groundwork for assessing the literary value of this subgenre and determining its ideological and didactic function.
