Zoom! The train has a long, round nose, and it goes fast, fast, fast. Hello, Tokyo!

Best friends Dino, a curious green dinosaur, and Benny, a calm brown bear, arrive by bullet train and learn their first word right away: konnichiwa, with a bow. They watch a whole crossing full of people step off at once when the light turns green, and meet Hachiko, the statue of a good dog who waited for his friend every single day. A great red lantern hangs in the temple gate, little shops line the lane with toys and fans, and a pagoda rises with five roofs to count.

The day unfolds gently. Pink cherry petals fall like snow over a picnic of rice balls, orange koi splash in the pond, and a kind lady folds paper into a crane, so Dino tries a hat and Benny tries a boat. Little plates of sushi ride past on a belt, green tea steams in small cups, and taiko drums go boom. Then up, up, up the Skytree, where the city turns small and far away Mount Fuji shows its snowy top. Night falls, ramen noodles slurp, and the whole glowing city says sayonara.
