The most critical knowledge we need to have while living is how to preserve our soul so that once we die, we do not lose it. Our soul does not need to be saved from sin, for the soul never sins. It does not need to be saved from hell, suffering or eternal damnation, for the soul can never suffer. Only the physical body with its mind and emotions can suffer.

What the soul needs to be saved from is annihilation, extinction and loss forever. This will happen, according to the Parable of the Talents, if we do not invest in ourselves and cultivate our minds and hearts to nurture the seed of soul and allow it to establish a root system, grow and blossom.
