Langston Woods does not consider herself the type of woman to agree to go for a drink with a stranger. But the streetcar is nowhere in sight, it is pouring rain, and she's miserable. A handsome man at the same streetcar stop asks her to share a cab...and then a drink...and normally safe Langston takes a risk and accepts.

Langston is not fashion photographer Noah Price's usual type. She's serious and subdued while his life revolves around the fun and frivolous. Langston is grieving and Noah has been dodging feelings and complications for years. Noah should be avoiding someone like Langston. But she's beautiful and compelling, and he can't stop thinking about her. Seeing her again has "bad idea" written all over it.

There is something between them though. And when their paths keep crossing, they're both compelled to give in. Both see something promising in each other; a chance to be different people. But what happens when they stop focusing on who they could be and start looking at who they are with? Will they be able to turn a relationship formed out of a chance encounter and the possibility of something good into something real and lasting?
