Kari – short for Karenza and pronounced Car-ee – loves her job. She’s an absolute whizz with a spreadsheet and the only receptionist in the surgery who really understands the new computer system. With people, she’s not so good. She blushes a deep and blotchy red when spoken to, stumbles over her replies and she has a terrible tendency to tearfulness.

Which is why, although she has loved him from the first moment she set eyes on him as a tongue-tied teenager on work experience, handsome doctor, Rob Pascoe, is barely aware of her existence.
