Sinister Export: The Origins of the Russian Imperial Movement and How It Reached America

This book offers a deep, meticulously researched examination of the Russian Imperial Movement (RIM), from its origins in post-Soviet Russia to its growing influence on extremist networks abroad, including the United States. Drawing on a wide range of primary and secondary sources, it unpacks the group's ideology, its blend of Russian imperialism and militant white nationalism, and the ways it has infiltrated and inspired segments of the American political scene. With clear, accessible analysis backed by rigorous documentation, the book traces how a movement rooted in nostalgia for empire became a transnational threat in the 21st century. It is an essential read for anyone who wants to understand the intersection of Russian geopolitical ambitions, global extremism, and the fragility of democratic institutions. For policymakers, researchers, students, and concerned citizens alike, this book sheds light on one of the most underexamined forces shaping today's extremist landscape... and why ignoring it is no longer an option.
