In The Glyph in the Glass, Book 1 in the series, the Core Four meet their teachers and undergo several scary trials. In The Curse of Echo, Book 2, the friends accidentally unlock a sealed chamber awakening a forgotten creature, and Cassia starts seeing futures that contradict fate. Fire in the Labyrinth, Book 3 describes a frightening battle. It also shows the importance of memory. Niko has to make an important choice. In Book 4, The Hollow Moon Pact, Cassia vanishes during a blood moon. Leo uncovers a pact between the Titans and the myth-borns that threatens the entire Academy.
