Rhigos Rite

A village remembers what its people have forgotten. When a midnight rite awakens something beneath a ruined chapel in Rhigos, Elen Hughes hopes the village's old stories can explain the tremors—and the young man found buried in the cemetery. But the earth is shifting, mine passages are opening, and something beneath the hill is calling people by name.As Elen and her neighbours search for the truth, they uncover a forgotten pact: each year, the villagers gathered to remember the dead, speak honestly about the land, and listen to one another. The old rite was never meant to summon a guardian. Yet the presence beneath Rhigos has been waiting, and it can no longer tell memory from the living. With the village at risk and people trapped below the chapel, Elen must help her neighbours face what was taken from the valley—and what they have allowed themselves to forget. To bring the missing home, they will have to tell the whole story, together. The Rhigos Rite is an atmospheric tale of buried history, community, and the uneasy bond between a place and the people who call it home.
