Starting from the basic concepts of second language acquisition, Research on Second Language Processing and Development focuses on the concepts of language transfer, mediator language, language proficiency, and language performance, which are important to the process and outcome of second language acquisition, and compiles domestic and international research on the sequence of second language acquisition. By analyzing the characteristics of second language acquisition sequences in different periods, the similarities and shortcomings are summarized. In view of this, the author conducted a sample test and survey on non-English major college students in China's universities from the perspective of second language grammatical processing, centering on the "e;Language Processability Theory"e; and its core framework proposed by Prof. Pienemann, and revealed the grammatical features of spoken and written English and the distribution of language processing ability of the college students. In addition, combining the literature review and research conclusions, certain methodological strategies and development directions are proposed for teaching English grammar at the university level.
