You are ahead of yourself, my friend, and the towers you have built in your life are nothing but a foundation for your mighty self, and this self will in time be the foundation for others. And I, like you, am ahead of myself; because the shadow spread out in front of me at sunrise will shrink under my feet at noon, and this sunrise will be followed by another sunrise; it will create a second shadow in front of me, but this same shadow will shrink under my feet also at another noon. Since the beginning, we have been ahead of ourselves, and we will remain ahead of ourselves forever, and what we have gathered and are gathering in our lives is nothing but seeds that we are preparing for fields that have not yet been cultivated. We are the fields and we are the farmers, we are the fruits and we are the investors. When you, my friend, were a wandering idea in the fog, there was a wandering idea like you; so I sought you and you sought me; and among our longings were dreams, and dreams were a time without restrictions, and dreams were a space without borders. And when you were a silent word between the trembling lips of life, I was like you there, a silent word, and life did not utter us until we emerged into existence, our hearts throbbing with memories of yesterday and longing for tomorrow. And yesterday is nothing but death banished, and tomorrow is nothing but birth intended.
