Ophelia can't stand the thought of another night spent in a room without a locked door between her and the deranged, succubus of a creature that had latched onto her father. There is no privacy, no respect, and a growing sense that the previously unshakeable safety she'd felt living there was just not coming back. The Debate Club had always been a place that had whisked her away from the stress, anger and disappointments that every day held for her, but now it had become the only bright spark she had left to look forward to.Jasper can't stand the thought of another night spent all alone in his empty apartment, without conversation, connection, or just the sound of another persons voice. He begins to strike out into the city in search of something, anything, to fill the suffocating, lonely silence—and then he finds it. When Jasper takes that first step into the brightly lit gymnasium where the community center's Debate Club meets at 5 o'clock every Thursday night, he thinks to himself that yes, this must be where the magic happens.
