Mardi Gras Ripper

Is a descendant of Jack the Ripper of London terrorizing New Orleans before Mardi Gras or is it just a copycat serial killer? A young Jewish rookie detective in New York is sent down to NOLA to assist with his comprehensive knowledge of that famous case. He teams with a top-notch female Creole lead detective to work to stop the murders before all out panic ensues and threatens the historical celebration. The detective experiences strange dreams and visions as he takes in the full history, culture, and legends of the area while grappling with his attraction to his temporary partner. The arrogant killer mimics aspects of the original ripper case while leading the investigators down an increasingly difficult path. The detectives main clue is in the form of a multi-symbol brand applied to all his victims. They need to figure out how all the symbols relate to each other to discover the killer's motivation and stop the carnage. The story, including illustrations, stretches about 355 pages.
