Liezi is an important figure in the Taoist school of thought between Lao and Zhuang. The book is a representative work of pre-Qin prose, which expresses subtle philosophies in the form of fables. The original annotator of this book, Tang Jinggao, was once a compiler in our library and was familiar with the various schools of thought. When selecting and editing this book, he chose the five articles that best reflect the ideology and literature of Liezi: "e;Heavenly Question"e;, "e;Zhongni"e;, "e;Tang"e;, "e;Yang Zhu"e;, "e;Saying the Runes"e;, and made a fine proofreading and a proofreading note for the base of the Northern Song edition for easy reference, and also divided the paragraphs into the beginning and end of each matter, so that the notes were concise and clear for easy comprehension. This revision, according to the requirements of the "e;new edition"e;, has standardized the style of the whole book, and absorbed the research results of the academic community, made a fine proofreading of the white text and citations, added and amended some of the annotations, and made a brief analysis of the ideological content of each part of the "e;Lie Zi"e; in the "e;Introduction to the New Edition"e;, so as to facilitate the readers' convenience. In the "e;Introduction to the New Edition"e;, the ideological contents of each part of "e;Liezi"e; are analyzed briefly for the convenience of readers.
