Illustrated Chinese Characters and Calligraphy

This book combines the evolution of Chinese characters with Chinese calligraphy, and is divided into six units and 38 chapters, each of which is subdivided into two main parts: the literacy chapter and the writing chapter. Each chapter is divided into two main parts: the literacy chapter is indexed by the radicals of Chinese characters, and more than 400 representative typical Chinese characters are selected and categorized according to their radicals or meanings into the six units: "e;The Creation of Chinese Characters,"e; "e;Chinese Characters and Human Organs,"e; "e;Chinese Characters and Ancient Inventions,"e; "e;Chinese Characters and Ancient Cultures,"e; "e;Chinese Characters and Ancient Ideologies,"e; and "e;Chinese Characters and Animals. The literacy chapters discuss the creation and evolution of these representative Chinese characters in an illustrated manner. Each literacy chapter is followed by a writing chapter, which complements and reinforces the literacy chapters. The book uses the Euclidean Regular Script as an example, and employs both brush and hard pen exercises to analyze and instruct key strokes and characters in an attempt to put learning into practice.
