*EXCERPT*
"Yes! Yes! Yes! Cheng Wu- Mason." Tam screamed in the middle of the crowded roof top dining room, gazing wildly at Cheng in disbelief as he approached. Although there were many people in this room, all she could focus on was this handsome, tall, caramel complexion, dark haired man walking towards her.
Cheng bent down on one knee, reached into his pocket, pulled out a little black box with a red bow, and her heart fell to her feet. All she could focus on in that moment was his beautiful slanted brown eyes and his luscious full lips.
"Will you be my wife?" Cheng Mason asked, opening the box to reveal a gorgeous five carat diamond solitaire, offset by two brilliant sky blue sapphires, perfectly mounted inside a glistening band made of platinum. It was beautiful!
Tamera Mizrahi or Tam as she was known by everyone who loved her, she was short and petite with big beautiful brown eyes. She kept her hair in a cute black pixie cut. She was that natural pretty brown skinned girl.
Ten years she and Cheng had been together. She always told herself that she wouldn't wait that long for a man to propose but here it was ten years later. Standing there she played this proposal in her mind over and over again even though it was really happening and her dream was coming true.
You could hear the loud and soft chatter across the room. Everyone was excited for her and Cheng.
The waiter Jim was pale skinned, tall and slinky. He walked over and congratulated the two and asked " So what's the plan? where is the wedding going to take place?"
They both looked at each other and burst out laughing and Cheng responded by saying "Well. Jim we haven't got to that part yet, but as soon as we decide we will surely let you know."
Strangers were walking up saying congratulations. I'm so happy for you both!
"I think most people love romance and spontaneous behavior." Tam said to Cheng.
"Baby I think you're right!" he replied.
"Tam. Are you happy?" he asked her, as he helped her with her shawl.
"Yes, always honey as long as we ride this wave of life together." She responded with a sweet soft kiss on Cheng's lips.
It was 11:16pm when they left the restaurant and got into their car to head home. It was late but it didn't matter because every moment of that night was priceless for the both of them. Cheng turned on his favorite song "If you leave me now, by the 70's group Chicago." Tam laid her head back on the head rest, looked into Cheng eyes and held his other hand as he drove them home.
The ride was silent with the midnight air flowing through the car. The thing about knowing the inside of someone you don't have to speak to be heard, and that's the kind of love they endured.
When Tam woke she was laying on the ground, lights flashing in her eyes and the paramedics standing over her.
"Ma'am, you were in an accident? Can you hear me talking to you?"
