Bits-O-Wisdom

After over 65 years of life, 45 years of marriage and 30 years in the ministry, Celia and Allan Thames have stored up a treasure of wisdom that they want to share here in BITS-O-WISDOM. Their 10-year-old granddaughter, Grace, has some advice of her own to offer such as "If you have money, buy candy." Good advice unless you are a dentist.

Sometimes lighthearted ("Change the oil in your car at regularly scheduled intervals"), sometimes poignant ("Enjoy and appreciate every moment with those precious loved ones"), Celia and Allan have literally spent their lifetime, so far, in preparing to write this book. It is full of advice: "With whatever time you have left, (none of us know how much time that might be) live, laugh, go, see, do, and have no regrets when you leave this place." It is full of life observations: "I have found that it is the things I have not done in life that I regret rather than the things I have done and maybe should not have."

Mainly dealing with various prospects of growing older, BITS-O-WISDOM also gives advice and observations on things like marriage, how to play soccer (from 10-year-old R. Grace McElroy) and funerals.
