What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are stored on your computer or phone when you visit a website or use online services.
In particular, they are used to make websites and services work or to make them work more efficiently.
Example: Try to imagine that you put an item in your basket, but then your computer shuts down, the internet goes down or you just leave the website and after a while you change your mind about buying the item after all. Thanks to cookies, the website is able to recognise that it is you who is returning and what items were in your basket.
What are they used for?
Some cookies are required for the basic functioning website and for our services to work at all. We must therefore always use them for the site to work and therefore we mostly refer to them as "essential".
Example: I'm sure you've been asked by a website to verify that you are a human being and not a computer program trying to attack the site. Usually you have to copy some text from an image, or select all the photos of fire hydrants among a series of images. Cookies in this category will remember that you are human and will not burden you and the site's servers with repeated authentication.

These cookies will remember your settings and the page will always be displayed in your preferred language.
